Coach
Karina Fulwiler
Karina was born in Munich Germany, but she wasn’t raised there…
Karina was born in Munich Germany, but she wasn’t raised there. She moved around a lot and attended high school in Louisiana. She grew up in a family that didn’t put much emphasis on health or fitness, which is why she never played any sports. After high school she continued her move towards Ohio, then Michigan, only to come back to Dayton. Karina ended up meeting her husband of 25+ years and started attending Sinclair Community College. She earned her Associates Degree in nursing and has been a practicing RN ever since.
Karina worked with the geriatric population and End of Life Care. She continued to make poor unhealthy lifestyle choices even though she had the first-hand experience of what those choices would do. She was sedentary and a full-time smoker, however, she started to realize that something had to change. She quit smoking and obtained the courage to attend her first ever spin class. Karina wanted to up her game, so she joined a couch to 5k program and started running. Eventually leading her down the road to 20 half marathons, 1 full marathon, and a mini-triathlon. One day a friend approached her and recommended she try CrossFit. She became instantly hooked and determined to learn as much as she could from this sport.
Karina obtained her level 1 plus her Precision Nutrition cert. in hopes of using her own personal experiences to help others become healthier versions of themselves and to lead them to the fountain of youth that is Crossfit. She is a momma to multiple 4 legged babies, but we will refrain from calling her a crazy cat lady.
